Aladdin is a popular animated which first released all the way back in 1992. The cast included Scott Weinger, Linda Larkin, and the late, great Robin Williams. Recently, the film was adapted into live-action with the iconic characters of Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Genie played by Mena Masoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith respectively.
Though Princess Jasmine didn't have quite as large a role in the original version of
Aladdin as she did in the recent remake, she immediately became a fan-favourite and iconic character. Just recently, the actress who voiced Jasmine in the animated film participated in a video from the YouTube channel by the name of
TODAY in which she reminisces about playing the character.
Larkin explains what her thought process was during production of the original film, talks about the resounding effect that her character had on people of the real world, as well as what it was like working with Robin Williams. At that, the actress also redoes a couple of her favourite lines from
Aladdin almost thirty years on.
