Disney-Pixar appears to be on the verge of ramping up its marketing campaign for Chris Pratt and Tom Holland's
Onward as two new posters have surfaced online. The first poster is specifically promoting the Dolby Cinema release of the film while the second promotes Real D 3D showings.
Early-tracking for the March 6 release is attributing a $45 million domestic opening for the film but there's still several weeks to go before the film officially starts playing. A strong word of mouth could see these early predictions rise, similar to what recently occurred with Paramount's
Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation.
The film follows two, teenage elf siblings who concoct a spell to bring their deceased father back to life for 24 hrs so they can finally meet him. Of course, the spell goes wrong and the brothers embark on a whirlwind roadtrip to see the spell finally completed. Rounding out the voice cast in additiontto Holland and Pratt, are Octavia Spencer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lena Waithe and Ali Wong.
Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers (voices of Chris Pratt and Tom Holland) who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. A new trailer and poster are now available, and new character posters were recently revealed, introducing cast members Mel Rodriguez, who voices Officer Colt Bronco; Lena Waithe, who lends her voice to Officer Specter; and Ali Wong, the voice of Officer Gore. Directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae, “Onward” opens in U.S. theaters on March 6, 2020.
