The Disney+ streaming service has only been active for a couple of months now, but they have already been rolling out their own line of original movies. It wasn't too long ago that we saw the release of
Togo, and we know of the plans for the reboots like
Home Alone and
Mighty Ducks.
Beyond that, the service launched with the success of the
Star Wars series
The Mandalorian and Marvel fans are readying themselves for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series like
Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and
Loki.
Now we know of another original movie that Disney+ has scheduled to premiere on March 13th called
Stargirl. While it shares a name with the upcoming CW/DC Universe Superhero series, they have nothing in common.
Yesterday was the 16th birthday of Grace VanderWaal, the actress who plays the titular character in the upcoming
Stargirl. To honor her on her special day, Disney+ shared a first look at the upcoming movie, which also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Karan Brar, Graham Vechere, Maximilliano Hernandez, and Darby Stanchfield.
Below we have compiled some first look photos from the film, followed by a trailer! Check them out and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Stargirl from Disney+ is a tender and offbeat coming-of-age story based on the critically-acclaimed, New York Times’ best-selling young adult novel about an unassuming high schooler who finds himself inexplicably drawn to the free-spirited new girl, whose unconventional ways change how they see themselves…and their world.
Stargirl premieres March 13th, streaming only on Disney+.
