The pumpkin spice lattes may already be flowing freely at Starbucks and Dunkin', but Freeform is still making us wait until October before the network kicks off its Halloween festivities. The 31 Nights of Halloween event returns this year on October 1 with a lineup of Halloween films that include beloved classics and recent hits, both live-action and animated.

Each day, you can tune into Freeform to catch your favorite spooky movies and specials all-day long. The scares begin on Friday, October 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET with the 1995 film Casper. This timeless classic stars Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman, but also uses extensive computer-generated imagery to create the ghosts, including Casper. In fact, it was the first feature film to have a fully CGI character in the lead role.

For those looking for something a little lighter on death, Disney and Pixar's Monsters, Inc. and its sequel Monsters University will air the following evening on October 2. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas makes its premiere on October 3 at 2:55 p.m. Other films from the master of gothic fantasy that will air on Freeform throughout the month include Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie.

DreamWorks' Shrek trilogy will air back to back to back starting on Tuesday, October 5. Additionally, there are multiple days where fans can catch marathon of Halloween-themed episodes from The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Check out some of the highlights of Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween.

The full schedule of dates and times for 2021's 31 Nights of Halloween can be found on the Freeform website.

I like how it's all kids films and then there's Alien and Aliens right in the middle.

@GwenLantern - I love that they never repeat them, it's a 1 time special night for the kids to watch something adult.

I do love that they're dedicated to doing Halloween month, they've been doing it since before the rebranding and it's just good old fun. That said, they could have spread them out more to avoid so many repeats, or maybe they could have gotten more adult stuff, like they did with Alien(s), to fill out the rest of the month.
