Disney has released three live-action films in their Descendants franchise, a series of movies that follows the lineage of Disney villains and the lives of the titular characters. While the third film hit in 2019, fans won't have to wait any longer to return to the universe.
An animated special following the events of Descendants 3 is premiering on Disney Chanel this Friday. Titled Descendants: The Royal Wedding, the outing features the living members of the live cast reprising their roles.
Cameron Boyce, the actor who played Carlos de Vil in all three franchise films, died in 2019 from an epileptic attack just weeks before the premiere of Descendants 3. Reuniting for the new special, the returning surviving stars made comments about the special, with Jay actor Booboo Stewart mentioning Cameron.
"To include [the fans] in the family of the loss of Cameron, I feel like is important because he represented so much for a lot of people. We're family, but also the fans of Descendants are family too."

Despite her decision, an unfathomable dark force threatens the people of Auradon, and it's up to Mal and the VKs to save everyone in their most epic battle yet.
Descendants: The Royal Wedding premieres this Friday, August 13th, on Disney Channel.
