Demi Lovato's SNOW WHITE Halloween Costume Has Disney Fans Wishing She'd Been Cast In The Reboot

We recently learned that Disney's Snow White has moved from March 22, 2024 to March 21, 2025, a year-long delay which suggests the studio plans to make a series of sweeping changes to the movie. Why? Likely to counter the negative buzz and avoid delivering one of its biggest critical and commercial flops to date.

The news this remake will forego the Seven Dwarfs to instead focus on a group called The Bandits has been met with a very vocal backlash, and an officially released still - showing Rachel Zegler's Disney Princess surrounded by those previously M.I.A. CG Dwarfs - has done little to help matters.

Yes, it's given people what they want, but a mixture of appalling visual effects and the fact they're all seemingly played by the same actor has led to a fresh round of complaints.

Needless to say, a teaser trailer is no longer expected to be released later this month with Wish and Disney has a lot of work to do to restore any goodwill in the project.

In the meantime, singer and actress Demi Lovato has revealed her take on Snow White for Halloween and a quick look on social media suggests people would love to have seen her cast in the live-action remake in place of Zegler. She certainly looks the part, anyway, though so does Zegler based on that recent first look.

Back to Lovato, and while she's best known for her work behind a microphone, the Grammy Award nominee has some acting experience, both as a teenager and in movies like Smurfs: The Lost Village, Charming, and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

Test screenings for Snow White have reportedly gone well so it's possible everyone is simply overreacting to the changes made by Disney. For many, though, they've already decided this movie isn't worth their time, so brace yourselves for more negativity (warranted and otherwise).

We'd expected Disney's live-action Snow White movie to be another potentially very good remake from the studio, but little could any of us have known it would end up being so massively controversial. It's not just on social media either; even mainstream news outlets have chimed in.

Aside from the decision to scrap the Seven Dwarfs, resurfaced comments from lead star Rachel Zegler in which the Shazam! Fury of the Gods star compared Prince Florian to a "stalker" have created a lot of problems for the project.

In terms of official details, very little has been revealed about director Marc Webb's (The Amazing Spider-ManSnow White plans, though we know the screenplay was written by Barbie director Greta Gerwig and playwright Erin Cressida Wilson.

In terms of cast, the movie stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan.

As noted, Snow White will be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.
