YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS Showrunners Didn't Know The Show Would Return Until Ten Days Before The Announcement
The announcement that Young Justice would return for a third season was exciting news for fans, and now it has been revealed that the showrunners only learned about it days before the rest of the world.
Fans of the first two seasons of Young Justice were both suprised and ecstatic to hear that the popular animated series was returning for another go, and surprisingly the announcement was almost as shocking for the show's creators.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the showrunners of Young Justice: Outsiders were asked when they learned the show had been revived and revealed that they learned about it shortly before the rest of the world.
"Ten days before the announcement," Greg Weisman said. "They talked to us about it being a maybe, but we didn't know for sure until ten days before."
As the creative minds behind the program this is certainly surprising to hear, but we shouldn't take this to mean that the showrunners weren't prepared for the project, as animator Phil Bourassa explained that they "had been talking about" what they would do in a third season before the announcement.
Though, that’s not unexpected considering the Season 2 finale clearly showed there were more stories to be told in that universe
