Young Justice: Outsiders is almost upon us, the fan-favorite DC animated series spent a long time in development limbo but will finally hit the screen today thanks to the streaming service DC Universe. Comicbook sat down with producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Wisman and discussed about the time jump the third season features.

"We do have those discussions, as we're crafting the beats of the stories. And there are some big events that we can sort of rely on for 'the big fans in the room' will get, but we're also okay if a new fan in the room doesn't get it," Vietti stated.

Having a time jump in the middle of season could be confusing for some of the casual fans, viewers that do not keep everything memorized or are not focused on every detail. Big changes can happen in the middle of the seasons, and Outsiders is no exception.

"We're also careful though that if we're in essence, using the time skip as an ellipsis, that if we got, you know if we explain as much as we need to. So if you got a fan who wants to go and do the research, that's great but if you got a fan who doesn't, they've got all they need to know in order to precede and, the flip side of this is also that because our version of the DC Universe is slightly different in places similar in other places. You can never be a hundred percent sure that even if you've done the research that that's exactly how things went down in our version of it," Bourassa explained.

Young Justice: Outsiders' latest trailer features Nightwing taking the lead, Barbara Gordon as Oracle, many new characters and will hopefully explain the time jump and everything that happened in the middle. Keep it here for more information on Outsiders.

The first season of the animated series launched in November 26, 2010 in Cartoon Network for two seasons. Sam Register is the executive producer with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation serving as the production companies.

In Young Justice: Outsiders, the teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets. In the highly anticipated new season, the team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.
