Fans have been excited for Season Four of
Rick and Morty since the seventy episode renewal was announced from Adult Swim. It's not a coincidence that the third season of the show has become available to stream on Hulu for the past several weeks, as the data shows that people of all sorts and sizes are clamoring for the show's return.
Hulu has announced that the most recent season of
Rick and Morty is being binged at a rapid rate. And by binge, they mean it, as it has been reported that within its first week of launch that almost fifty percent of the people who watched the entirety of the season watched all ten episodes within a twenty four hour time frame. With the episodes clocking in at just under 23 minutes, it's understandable to think that people would watch multiple episodes in a sitting but getting many people to commit to the entire season at once is an achievement for the series.
It has also been reported that fans who are currently watching any season of the show generally average about four episodes per day, with most people watching late at night, the most popular time to stream being 11pm and 1am EST. It's not unusual that people would kick back to watch in the late hours, as that is when fans would be used to seeing the show on Adult Swim anyhow. Mondays happen to be the most popular night to kick back with
Interdimensional Cable, with fans streaming the series more often on that day.
Don't think that the only people watching
Rick and Morty are stoner males, though. While it may be slightly more towards male viewers, forty percent of people watching the show are actually females. Similarly, forty percent of the people who watch
Rick and Morty also enjoy dramas such as
This Is Us and
The Handmaid's Tale.
Is it possible that more people are starting to understand and appreciate the complex layering of the storytelling in
Rick and Morty, or are people just falling asleep with their televisions on? Check out the trailer for
Rick and Morty Season Three, now streaming on Hulu!
