There have been rumblings of a potential new
Bee And Puppycat series for a while now, but with today's internet standards, fans have learned to wait for official confirmation before they get too excited about any of their favorite shows. Fortunately, in this case we can put those fears to rest as we now have official confirmation that a second
Bee And Puppycat series is underway.
Set for a 2019 launch, the new
Bee And Puppycat story, titled
Bee And Puppycat: Lazy In Space, will be produced in Japan. Frederator Studios has already started production on the second series, which will see the beloved characters premiere on Ellation's SVOD (subscription video on demand) aggregation service VRV, which is what many fans use currently for their anime needs.
Bee And Puppycat: Lazy In Space will run exlusively on VRV, within the Cartoon Hangover Select Channel.
Creator Natasha Allegri will serve as showrunner for the new series, which will be a breath of relief for fans who have high hopes for the new series. It will be co-produced by Frederator Studios along with the Tokyo-based OLM, Inc. (
Pokemon), with support from it's LA subsidiary, Sprite Animation. If you're unfamiliar with the work of Frederator Studios, it includes
Adventure Time on Cartoon Network,
Castlevania on Netflix, and
Fairly Oddparents on Nickelodeon, to name a few.
Check out the short teaser below for the new series below.
Bee is a cheerful young woman in her twenties who is habitually fired from menial, low paying jobs. On her way home from a failed job opportunity, Puppycat, a strange, mysterious creature, falls from the sky. She takes him in and when he sees that she is unemployed, Puppycat teleports himself and Bee to an alternate dimension where they are given a job by TempBot, a gigantic, intelligent, television screen.
