During today's
Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con, DreamWorks Animation Television revealed a trailer for the upcoming season of the Netflix original series. Picking up shortly after Lotor's defeat, Season 7 sees our Paladins set a course for Earth, only when they arrive they discover that their home planet is now how they left it.
In addition to the trailer, DreamWorks confirmed that Season 7 of
Voltron will debut on August 10 on the streaming service. Fans in attendance today were treated to an early screening of the first episode. Titled
"A Little Adventure," the first episode features
"Team Voltron as they encounter a small problem on the planet Faunus as they try to recharge their lions."
In an interesting sidenote, it was announced that DreamWorks and Nerdist have teamed up to launch an official
Voltron podcast, "Form Podcast!" Hosted by Nerdist associate editor Kyle Anderson, the podcast will feature guest spots from the showrunners, cast, and crew of Voltron. Each episode offers a "listen-while-you watch" commentary track to play alongside the episodes. The first episode
is already available and features executive producers Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery.
Season 7 of
Voltron Legendary Defender will consist of 13 episodes. DreamWorks confirmed that one final season will come to Netflix before the end of the year.
