In a recent entry posted on The Pokémon Company's official website,
Undertale Creator Toby Fox revealed that he has composed on song for Game Freak's highly anticipated
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield.
"
Once upon a time, I created an RPG game called UNDERTALE. For one reason or another, it seems a lot of people from GAME FREAK ended up becoming fans of this game," reveals Fox while also adding that he messaged
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield Composer Go Ichinose on Twitter; eventually becoming friends.
After some back and forth, Fox asked if he could write something for the game, and Game Freak accepted; allowing the creator of Undertale to compose one song for the upcoming
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield.
In regards to the song he composed for the game, Fox reveals that it is "
a fierce track full of explosive power", and that he took inspiration from his own energy and passion he felt when he Game Freak agreed to let him compose a song for the next entry in the
Pokémon series.
"
It's a fierce track full of explosive power. I wanted to show the energy and passion I felt when asked to create a song for Pokémon! Yeahh! Let's get wild, baby!!!"
Fox also reveals that players won't be able to hear the song he composed won't until the very end of the game, so he encourages everyone to enjoy all of the game's other music, too.
"
Ah, but wait, wait a second. It's the only song I made, and you can't hear it until you beat the game, so... make sure you enjoy GAME FREAK's music properly first, OK!? Adachi-san and Ichinose-san worked hard.... Don't rush through the whole game just to hear my song.... (No one would actually ever do that.)"
Nintendo and Game Freak have just released the song that Toby Fox composed for
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield so, without further ado, be sure to check it out down below and let us know what you think about it.
Give it a listen:
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 15th of November.
