Since the movies have released, many casual viewers associate Transformers with Michael Bay. The director/producer has released six films focused on the Autobots and Decepticons, including Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, The Last Knight, and the most recent addition featuring John Cena (The Suicide Squad) and Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye), Bumblebee.
However, hardcore fans who have followed the transforming and subsequent rolling out over the years remember the animated series that helped popularize the franchise back in the day. Beast Wars and Transformers cartoons have been around for decades, and now Nickelodeon is set to launch another outing for the robots, returning them to their animated roots.
A brand new announcement has been made which reveals the creative team behind the 2022 series. While The Loud House and DC Superhero Girls' Jordan Rosato has been tapped as a storyboard director, multiple TMNT creatives have also jumped on board, bridging the gap between the two Nickelodeon properties.
The new series is said to focus on a new species of Transformers as well as human protagonists, but what do you guys think? Are you interested in following a new species of Transformers in a new cartoon? Be sure to sound off in the usual spot with your thoughts!
