Children of the '80s rejoice! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has been rummaging through their TV and animated titles archive and found a title that is sure to please those that grew up during that time period and spent their Saturday mornings catching up with their favorite heroes.
Next month the Warner Archive will be releasing the Hanna-Barbera post-apocalyptic fantasy classic Thundarr The Barbarian: The Complete Series. It will be available on Blu-ray disc in It's original 4x3 full frame aspect ratio. It is set to hit retailers and online merchants March 16th, 2021! It's also currently available via pre-order on Amazon.com for those that want to order right away.
Thundarr The Barbarian follows the adventures of Thundarr (voiced by Robert Ridgely) and his companions Princess Ariel, a young sorceress, and Ookla the Mok. It was created by Steve Gerber and ran for two seasons on ABC (October 4, 1980 through October 31, 1981). In 1983 it was reran on NBC. Comic book writer and artist Jack Kirby worked on the production design for the animated series, as well as character design for many of the wizards, villains and secondary characters. The main character desins were by fellow comic book writer and artist Alex Toth.
