The official Twitter account of next month's E3 gaming event (@E3) has announced that the writers and producers of The Simpsons will be attending Geoff Keighley's E3 Coliseum panel. This has led to speculation the the upcoming event will see the announcement of a brand new video-game based on the show.

E3 Coliseum is a panel show brought to you by, the host of The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley which runs live alongside the actual E3 event typically features gameplay demos and interview with developers and writers of upcoming games.

EA are currently in charge of any video-games based on The Simpsons. So, if a new Simpsons game were to be announced during the event, it would be done during EA's segment of the show. This will take place some time between June 11th and June 13th as that is when E3 is live this year.

The most recent game based on The Simpsons was for mobile devices, released back in 2012, and was titled: Tapped Out. So, while many are expecting a massive title to be announced (like a remaster of The Simpsons: Hit and Run) it could just be a new mobile game - or even something less exciting than that. So don't get your expectations up too high just yet.
