THE SIMPSONS Will Reportedly Be Renewed For Two More Seasons Soon, Despite Disney's Acquisition Of Fox
Despite the fact that Disney are about to acquire just about every significant property that 20th Century Fox has to offer, the latter studio are reportedly set to renew The Simpsons for two more seasons.
The Simpsons has been on the air since 1989 and has racked up a total of 663 episodes and thirty seasons, according to this recent report by Variety, that isn't about to change any time soon.
Disney's encroaching acquisition of 20th Century Fox has left the fate of many of its well-known franchises up in the air. Fans of, the long-running, animated, comedy series, are particularly befuddled as Fox have stated that, despite the acquisition, they intend to keep The Simpsons.
Sources told Variety that 20th Century Fox are amid a deal with FBC to renew The Simpsons for yet another two seasons - though representatives of Disney and Fox have declined to comment on this statement.
This seems to indicate that ownership of the iconic cartoon will remain with Fox despite Disney's upcoming purchasing of just about everything else the studio has to offer - as the acquisition is expected to close relatively soon.
