Nickelodeon's Emmy Award-winning animated series The Loud House is making the jump to live-action. Production on The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas! (working title) is slated to begin in April, with casting currently underway for the original live-action holiday TV movie.
Wolfgang Schaeffer (Criminal Minds) has already been tapped to play 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and Jahzir Bruno (The Witches) has been cast as Clyde McBride, Lincoln's best friend. Additional casting announcements will be made soon, according to Nickelodeon.
The Loud House debuted on Nickelodeon in May 2016. The animated series centers on Lincoln Loud and his 10 sisters (five older, five younger) all living under one roof. Lincoln provides an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of such a huge family.
The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas! will see Lincoln gearing up for the ultimate Christmas until he finds out that most of his sisters have plans to be elsewhere for the holiday. "Determined to remind his family that they all need to be together, Lincoln and his best friend Clyde embark on a mission to preserve the family’s holiday traditions," the synopsis teases.
The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas! is written by Liz Maccie (Make It or Break It) and directed by Jonathan Judge (All That, Punky Brewster, The Thundermans). Judge is also serving as executive producer alongside Michael Rubiner (The Loud House) and Matt Bierman (Christmas with the Darlings).
The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas! will premiere in November on Nickelodeon. Meanwhile, the animated series was recently greenlit for a sixth season. It's currently one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon with 156 episodes.
