Critical Role is set to launch a minimum of 24 episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina. The animated series will receive at least two seasons on Amazon Prime.
For those unfamiliar with Critical Role, it is a production company and web series that follows the adventures in tabletop gaming of a group of well-known voice actors. These include Laura Bailey (Spider-Man), Travis Willingham (Batman: Bad Blood), Taliesin Jaffe (Hellsing), Matthew Mercer (Monsters University), Sam Riegel (Blue Exorcist: The Movie), Marisha Ray (Far Cry 5), Ashley Johnson (Growing Pains), and Liam O'Brien (Planet Hulk).
The full team of voice actors will be lending their talents to the upcoming animated series and reprising their roles from the web series and executive producing the series. Now, Critical Role has released the finalized character art for the show created by Phil Bourassa (Justice League, Young Justice, Batman: Bad Blood), who is leading the design team.
As you can see, the image above features the characters of Percival de Rolo, Pike Trickfoot, Grog Strongjaw, Scanlan Shorthalt, Keyleth, Vax’ildan, and Vex’ahlia, in order from left to right.
The below video includes a short animation revealing each of these characters and plenty more The Legend of Vox Machina tidbits from the Critical Role crew. Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual spot!
In this third installment of our behind-the-scene series on the production of The Legend of Vox Machina, we are thrilled to introduce Phil Bourassa, our incredible lead character designer, and to show off Vox Machina's final character designs!
