Nickelodeon recently announced The Adventures of Paddington — which will make its debut on Nick Jr. in January. The upcoming animated series is written by Jon Foster, James Lamont, and directed by Adam Shaw and Chris Drew. Ben Whishaw, who voiced the titular character in the two theatrical, live-action
Paddington movies, will reprise the role.
Gary Barlow is a musician and songwriter who is best known for helming the British pop group known as Take That. Barlow recently took to social media to announce that he is responsible for both writing and performing the theme song for
The Adventures of Paddington.
"Very happy to announce that I've written the new theme song for 'The Adventures of Paddington'!" The singer wrote (
@officialgarybarlow). Barlow also offhandedly mentioned that the animated series will premiere in the UK in March — rather than in January as it will in the US.
"I believe it'll be on your screens in March 2020 on [Nick Jr. UK]."
Below you can check out a picture that Barlow uploaded to Instagram which sees him holding a Paddington Bear toy whilst at work in a music studio.
