Paddington Bear originated in a British children's book series all the way back in 1958. The character has since been adapted into the realm of animation on multiple occasions. Recently, the beloved bear graced the big screen in two live-action comedy movies which were unbelievably successful both financially and critically —

Nickelodeon has announced (via
Business Wire) a new animated series intended for preschoolers which will air on Nick Jr. on January 20th, 2020 (at 12:30 pm ET/PT).
The Adventures of Paddington will consist of 26 episodes and see Paddington writer letters to Aunt Lucy about the new things he's discovered and what he's gotten up to.
The Adventures of Paddington is directed by Adam Shaw, Chris Drew of BlueZoo, and written by Jon Foster and James Lamont — the latter writing having worked on the aforementioned
Paddington movies. Speaking of the theatrical adaptations, Ben Whishaw will reprise the role of Paddington in the upcoming animated series.
The cast also includes Morwenna Banks, Bobby Beynon, Sheena Bhattessa, Darren Boyd, Noel Clarke, Phyllis Logan, Monica Lopera, Sabrina Newton-Fisher, David Schofield, Reece Shearsmith, Liz Sutherland-Liim, and Jeremiah Waysome.
