Tangled: The Series, the animated television series based on Disney's 2010 film
Tangled, will return for a second season on June 24, the company announced. However, it appears the show will return with a new title. Disney PR confirmed on Twitter that the series will be re-titled
Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure when it returns next month.
The
Tangled animated series premiered on March 10, 2017, as the Disney Channel Original Movie
Tangled: Before Ever After, with regular episodes premiering on March 24. The series takes place after the events of the
Tangled movie, with the focus of the first season on Rapunzel adjusting to her new life as the daughter of King Frederic and Queen Arianna of Corona. The series continued the wild misadventures of Rapunzel and her boyfriend Eugene Fitzherbert along with Pascal the Chameleon, Maximus the Horse, and her new handmaiden Cassandra.
The sophomore season's logline reads:
Rapunzel ventures outside of the kingdom in search of where the mystical black rocks lead, after discovering she is somehow connected to them. Accompanying Rapunzel on her journey is her partner in life, Eugene; her best friend and confidante, Cassandra; her loyal chameleon sidekick, Pascal; no-nonsense and dutiful horse, Maximus; Eugene’s best friend, Lance and the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs. Together, they’ll discover new people and places and embark on an incredible new adventure far beyond Corona’s walls.
In addition to the return date and new series title, Disney also announced season 2 guest stars will include Carol Kane, Lil Red Howery, Yvonne Strahovsky, Britt Robertson, and Timothy Dalton.
Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure will air on Disney Channel on June 24 at 8:00 a.m. Disney has also reportedly ordered a third season of the show.
