SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated has been on the radar of fans of Nickelodeon's popular animated series pretty much since it was announced in June of last year. The reason? It is a remake of the original game of the same name — sans the Rehydrated part, of course — that released for consoles in 2003.
As a fully fledged remake of the original title, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is bringin back every single one of the elements that made the original game a fan-favourite, but the developers have also added in a few things to keep things interesting for those who played the original.
The graphics in SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is the first thing that's obviously been changed in order to give players a current-gen experience — which is widely appreciated, since the new game looks fantastic from a graphics standpoint.
One thing that hasn't changed is the exciting battles against the gigantic bosses from the original game, and THQ Nordic has shared a new gameplay trailer that focuses solely on these epic moments from the game, so be sure to check it out down below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.
Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam) on the 23rd of June.
