In an exclusive first dropped by io9 Gizmodo, it was announced that DreamWorks Animations' reboot of the classic 1980's cartoon She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will be premiering on Netflix sooner than expected.
While the series was planned to debut on the streaming service on November 16th, the release date was instead moved up three days early to November 13th.
The cartoon follows the adventures of Princess Adora as she protects her planet Etheria from the evil Horde and sets out to find her destiny as the legendary freedom fighter She-Ra with her Sword of Protection.
The official synopsis for the series posted on Netflix is as follows:
“Soldier Adora finds a magic sword— and her identity as legendary hero She-Ra. She joins the Rebellion, but her best friend stays with the evil Horde.”
The voice cast includes Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor) as She-Ra, Karen Fukuhara as Glimmer, AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs) as Catra, Marcus Scribner (Blackish) as Bow, Reshma Shetty (Royal Pains) as Angella, and Keston John as Hordak.
