Shazam won't officially hit theaters until April 5 but more than a few comic book fans caught the movie this past weekend thanks to a 1-day advance screening, courtesy of Fandango.
The embargo on official reviews was also lifted and by all accounts, WB has a big hit on their hands. The weekend box office numbers confirmed that Shazam grossed $3.3M from 1,200 theaters, a higher total than the advance screening for DC Film's previous release, Aquaman. Could WB have another billion dollar hit on their hands? Perhaps Aquaman and Shazam will form a new cinematic "Trinity" with Wonder Woman, replacing Batman and Superman?
