Sonic the Hedgehog will be racing into theatres for the first time on February 14th. While that's certainly exciting, what is there to expect on the video game front? Well, it seems that SEGA has promised updates on that side of things with a new initiative called: Sonic 2020.
This endeavour will see to there being new announcements and updates to do with
Sonic the Hedgehog throughout the remainder of the year (via
Gamefragger). Specifically, on the 20th of every month of 2020 there will be exciting, new announcements.
The first of these announcements was the initiative itself. Therefore, we don't exactly know what SEGA has planned for the updates but fans are hoping that it has something to do with a new video game instalment or a new animated show.
You can keep up with Sonic 2020 over on SEGA's official website —

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
