If
Scooby Doo is known for two things, it's meeting celebrities and eating. It only makes sense, then, that Warner Bros would want to combine those two aspects of his character. That's probably why they're releasing
Scooby Doo! and the Gourmet Ghost on DVD tomorrow.
The Gourmet Ghost is an all new
Scooby Doo mystery featuring some recognizable voice talent from the world of celebrity cooking. Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, and Marcus Samuelsson all lend their voices to the Mystery Gang's next animated feature, and it's a story Scooby fans won't want to miss.
This news comes to us via
ComicBook.com, who give us some details on the plot of the film. Bobby Flay, who the film reveals to be Fred Jones's uncle (surprise), is promoting a new resort of his in New England. The property is an idyllic getaway for foodies the world over, but behind its picturesque local is a dark legend. The Red Ghost, as the locals call it, is the real owner of the property. Flay, not hindered by the local legends, decides to throw an opening gala with his fellow celebrity chef friends. All is going well until...
the lights mysteriously flicker off and out of the shadows, Red Ghost appears frightening all the guests, who run out in a panic. Is the legend of Red Ghost real after all? That's up to a certain gang of meddling kids to figure out.
Along with the recognizable names in the culinary world, Scooby Doo fans are sure to recognize some other names in the cast. Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the live-action Scooby Doo films, reprises his role. Frank Welker, who has been playing Fred Jones since the first Scooby Doo series, returns to the role of Fred as well as Scooby himself.
