Since its launch in April 2017, Boomerang has provided customers with access to over 2000 cartoons for streaming or download-to-go. The majority of their shows are drawn from the libraries of Looney Tunes, MGM and Hanna-Berbera. At a cost of $4.99 a month, viewers can enjoy Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, Droopy and dozens of other beloved titles.
In an effort to attract more customers to its platform, Boomerang has announced that they are working on a couple of original shows. These shows will be spinoffs of 2 of the company's most popular properties.
Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? will follow the exploits of the Scooby Gang as they team up with a variety of celebrities and pop culture icons in order to solve mysteries. Guest stars will include the likes of Mark Hamill, Bill Nye and Jaleel White reprising his role as Steve Urkel from Family Matters. The show will be produced by Chris Bailey and Sam Register.
Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs! will focus on the offspring of the Flintstone and Rubble families. Best friends Pebble Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, along with Dino will leave Bedrock to explore the Crags; a vast and dangerous land filled with dinosaurs. In the wilderness, they will find friends, fight enemies and learn about life throught their adventures. The show will have a 15 minute running time and is produced by Marly Halpern-Graser, Sam Register and Mark Marek.
The streaming service also renewed several original shows such as Be Cool Scooby-Doo!, Dorothy and The Wizard of Oz, New Looney Tunes, The Tom and Jerry Show and Wacky Races.
Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? and Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs! will premiere next year and are produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
