During a recent panel at the American Black Film Festival, it was announced (via
Comicbook.com) that Sanaa Lathan will be playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman in DC Universe's upcoming
Harley Quinn animated series.
Lathan is best known for her roles in
Alien vs. Predator and
Blade. In voice acting work, Lathan played Donna Tubbs (as well as a multitude of other characters) in
Family Guy and
The Cleveland Show.
Catwoman is often a foil and/or love interest of Batman's. We know that the caped crusader will be making an appearance in the upcoming animated series, along with other Gotham City Sirens like Posion Ivy.
The latter character will be voiced by Lake Bell, while Bats himself will be voiced by Diedrich Bader. The series also stars Alan Tudyk as The Joker and, of course, Kaley Cuoco as the titular basketcase.
Harley Quinn is set to debut on DC Universe in Fall 2019.
