Nickelodeon has released a new video for its upcoming animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The series is a re-imagining of the fictional superhero team featuring the mutant crime-fighting turtle brothers Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

The series offers an updated take on the heroes in a half shell who "discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City." And in today's video, we get a glimpse of some of the wild moments we can expect to see when the series premieres Monday, September 17 on Nickelodeon. The trailer offers a nice feel for the show's tone which seems to blend action and humor with a fun art style.

The premiere of the brand-new series RISE of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is only ONE week away! It’s time to RISE up and watch Raph, Mikey, Leo, and Donnie unleash their new ninja powers on the city’s toughest villains in this action-packed video compilation. 💥Someone scream Cowabunga!

Technically, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles already made its debut when Nickelodeon released the first episode, Mystic Mayhem, for free online back in July. So technically, the series will continue on Monday. Meanwhile, Nickelodeon has already renewed the series for a second season with production slated to begin this fall.
