Fans of
Pokémon will be familiar with the
Mystery Dungeon spin-off series of video games, which saw its humble beginnings in 2006; when
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team BlRedue and
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Blue were released for the Game Boy Advance.
Over the years, the
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series has seen a bunch of releases for other Nintendo platforms, but the latest entry in the series became available for the Nintendo 3DS in 2015; leading some fans to believe that the developers were simply done with it.
Today we have some great news for fans of the
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, in particular those who got the chance to play the first games, as Game Freak announced that a brand-new title is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch.
As per today's announcement — during Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon Direct presentation —
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a remake of the original game(
Rescue Team Red & Blue) that will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch on the
6th of March.

In 2006, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team games were released for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS systems in Japan. In 2020, these titles will gain a new life on Nintendo Switch.
