2020 has new things on the horizon for Niantic's
Pokémon Go as the company has several "experiments" planned, starting with this past weekend's February Community Day voting event. There have also been two more experiments announced for this month alone in the form of Pokémon Spotlight Hour and the Mystery Bonus Hour - but we'll have more details for you regarding those later.
Niantic has always controlled the Community Day Events until now, but for the first time fans were given a chance to vote for who they could catch. Spinning stops on Saturday gifted Trainers with the opportunity to vote for one of the following Kanto Regionals - Dratini, Machop, Vulpix, and Rhyhorn, and the latter took the competition.
Rhyperior is a very strong creature in battle and its CP can get pretty high, so it isn't hard to imagine that players were looking to stock up on the candy for this monster. The event takes place on February 22nd and for those who evolve the creature during it, Rhyperior will learn the exclusive move Rock Wrecker. Northern Hemisphere will get the event during 11 p.m. local time and Southern Hempisphere will receive their event during 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Be sure to pop as many Star Pieces as possible as the event will also feature bonuses such as 3x Catch Stardust and the chance at a Shiny Rhyhorn. Keep your eyes peeled and if you're lucky you might notice a sparkle!
