It certainly comes as no surprise that Niantic has found another reason to throw an event in their mobile game
Pokémon Go - not that that's a bad thing. The most recent in an increasingly widening cluster of released events is one in celebration of tomorrow's well-known Pokémon Day.
Pokémon Day dates back many years as it is a holiday in commemoration of the release of the very first Pokémon Go game titles. All the way back in 1996 the franchise began with
Pokémon Red and
Pokémon Green and fans still keep the tradition alive today. Niantic is helping them do so by releasing many festive looking creatures into their title - or at least they're releasing festive
versions of already released pocket monsters as they normally do.
Players will notice that Pikachu and Eevee will be appearing in the wild wearing party hats, while Raids will be filled with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle - the starter trio from the original game titles. There will also be a raid day on March 1st, the day before this event ends, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time in which Nidorino and Gengar will also wear hats in Raids. Check out more details on that below!
-
Nidorino wearing party hats will be appearing in two-star raids.
-
Gengar that know Lick and Psychic and are wearing party hats will be appearing in four-star raids.
-
If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Nidorino or a Shiny Gengar wearing a party hat!
-
You can receive up to five Raid Passes at no cost during the event by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms. You cannot hold more than one of these Raid Passes at once, and they will not be available after the event ends.
Any Trainers getting out and about during this event will also benefit from one other bonus as the limit on Special Trades with friends has been raised from 1 to an astounding 2 per day. While that technically isn't a lot, it
is double.
