Although Niantic's
Pokémon Go has been released for nearly four years and Community Day Events have been taking place for at least half that time, February was the first opportunity that fans had to place their vote as to who the featured creature of the month would be. With the choices of Dratini, Machop, Vulpix, and Rhyhorn Trainers ensured that the latter swept the competition so they could collect their Rhyperior candy.
Looking ahead at the month of March and the Community Day it will hold - which seems to be set on March 15th - players unfortunately have to return to the old model of being told who to capture with no say in the matter. White official confirmation has yet to be revealed by Niantic, dataminers have discovered text which fairly plainly points to Abra being the featured creature during the
March Community Day Event.
This shouldn't be too much of a worry for trainers as Abra is a fairly rare creature to find and its final evolution Alakazam is a Psychic beast in the arena so a chance at plenty of Candy for this Pokémon likely won't bother fans. Its possible that Niantic is considering returning to the voting system based on how fans react to this month, but we will have to wait and see what happens.
Regardless, let us know your thoughts on the Community Day system below!
