The March Community Day Event for Trainers in Niantic's
Pokémon Go ia today, meaning Trainers everywhere are going to head outside to celebrate Treecko in all of his shiny glory. Between the shiny chance of the starter, the Frenzy Plant move for Sceptile, and the four times incubator speeds running during the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. globally, there is plenty for players to focus on in their immediate future.
Despite all of that, even before the event has begun, news has been released for the next event in the game so that Trainers can be ready and be even more excited as it is only a week away. It seems as though Niantic has squuezed another event in to tide Trainers over until April's Community Day event as Professor Willow now needs help with research on
Pokémon like Lotad and Castform who appear most often during specific weather conditions.
The event is set for one week from today's Community Day event, landing on Saturday, March 30th, but it will last from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. globally, which is much longer than the normal three hour windows Trainers have grown used to for most if not all of Niant's past events. During this time peried weather-based
Pokémon will be popping up more often in the wild and research tasks based around Lotad will be available when Trainers stop to spin Pokéstops. Trainers don't have to complete the research tasks during the event time, but that is the only time to claim the limited research taks which featured Lotad.
Of course the event also means that new shinies are going to be gracing players with their appearance, and that will be - you guessed it - Lotad and Castform. Even though Castform does have many tricky weather-induced forms, the only one with a shiny announced for this event in Pokémon Go will be the Normal type.
