Pokémon GO has added new types of Lure Modules for the first time since the game's launch in 2016. There are Mossy Lures, Glacial Lures, and Magnetic Lures, with the latter of the bunch proving to be the most frustrating for trainers in regards to collecting the Pokémon associated with it.
These Lures introduced new aspects to the game, as they each attract different
Pokémon types depending on which Lure you are using. The problem is that each Lure is coupled with a Pokémon or two that can only be gotten through evolving in range of an active Lure Module.
The Mossy and Glacial Lures were initially the only way to evolve Eevee into a Leafeon or Glaceon, but Niantic included the same naming trick for those
Pokémon as they did for the previous Eevee-lutions in the earlier Generations.
The Magnetic Lure
Pokémon, Magnezone and Probopass, didn't get so lucky. These two
Pokémon can only be obtained if you evolve a Magnemite and a Nosepass in range of a Magnetic Lure, and you'll have to have the required amount of candy to do so. Unfortunately, the only way to currently obtain these special Lure Modules is through the in-game shop. Costing 200 Pokécoins, a seasoned Trainer could max out Gym Defending for four days and not spend any real life money just to buy a single lure, but the play style isn't the same for all Trainers, with some more interested in simply capturing Pokémon.
Niantic will likely make Special Research Tasks in which these can be earned, but for now its going to be a bit more difficult than usual to capture the latest additions. Community Days may be the best way to go in the meantime, with players allowed to hop on any Lure, even if it was put up by another Trainer.
