Announced today were the 2018 Emmy Nominations, which have brought great news to Rick and Morty fans near and far, as its scored an Emmy nomination for one of the most popular episodes so far, Pickle Rick.

The categore of which Pickle Rick has been nominated for is Outstanding Animated Program, and the comedy is looking at some pretty decent competition. Baymax Returns (Big Hero 6: The Series), V For Vanlentine-detta (Bob's Burgers), Put It Down (South Park), and Gone Boy (The Simpsons) are the four rivals that Rick and Morty will have to pass to claim the Emmy.

The episode of Pickle Rick sees the title character quite literally becoming a pickle while the family tries to deal with therapy from guest star Susan Surandon. The episode has had a tremendous cultural impact, inspiring a quick wave of memes and merchandise, more-so than other episodes of the show, even.

Rick and Morty follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his overly nervous grandson Morty, who split their time between domestic family life and intergalactic travel. Season 4 is currently in production and will premiere on a TBA date.
