The live-action Dora the Explorer film is expected to kick off in August and Collider has revealed two key cast additions.

Dora's cousin Diego will be played by Micke Moreno (Escobar: Paradise Lost) while Abuela Valerie (Grandma Valerie) will be portrayed by Oscar-nominated actress Adriana Barraza (Babel, The Strain).

Not much is known about the film, other than the fact that it will feature an original villain, portrayed by Eugenio Derbez (sorry, Swiper).

Diego actually received his own spinoff from Nickelodeon, Go, Diego, Go!, so Moreno's supporting role could very well lead to bigger things.

Dora the Explorer is presently set to hit theaters on August 2, 2019.
