Field Research tasks in
Pokémon Go are missions that players can unlock by spinning stops and gyms.Trainers are then tasked with any number of requirements to earn rewards in return, making it well worth players' while.
While players are allowed to complete as many Field Research tasks as they like each day - earning the rewards for them all as they go - only the first task of the day will earn trainers a stamp. January's reward for getting seven stamps is the weekly research breakthrough reward of Lapras, a Generation I Ice-Type creature.
Niantic previously released the shiny variant of Lapras so that will be something to look out for, but fans will be glad to learn that the creature can also come with two Legacy moves - Ice Shard and Ice Beam, both of which make this it a decent competitve contender in PVP play - something which, according to Niantic, will be more prevelent in the mobile game beginning this year.
Thanks to Polygon, we were able to list the full range of Field Reseach opportunities for the month of January along with their respective rewards below. Trainers will have the rare opportunity to capture creatures such as Scyther, Chansey, and Aerodactyl, while Stardust, Rare Candies, Ultra Balls, Golden Raspberries and much more are also amongst the earnings. Check it out for yourself!
