Just as fans once collected the highly popular holographic cards in the
Pokémon Trading Card Game, the shiny variants in the
Pokémon franchise offer another layer of excitement for trainers once the games are complete, adding replay value to the games. Niantic's popular mobile game
Pokémon Go is no different, as they often utilize the of shiny creatures' popularity as one draw to keep trainers logging into the game even if its cold outside.
The game held a Team GO Rocket Event during which time the spawn rates for Pokémon used by team members like Giovanni, Jesse, and James were increased, and shiny versions of Pokémon like Koffing and Ekans were introduced.
Although Koffing was finally getting some attention however, it has recently been confirmed that Niantic mistakenly let a glitched sprite slip under their radar for the Pokémon's shiny sprite. Thanks to a Reddit post on The Silph Road, it can now be seen that Koffing's Gas Emission was glitched until the recent update from Niantic. Take a look at the color difference for yourself below!

More than likely Niantic didn't notice this mistake because most fans probably expected the two-toned gas to be purposeful for the Gas Emission, and some fans have even voiced that they prefer the glitched version. Which do you think looks better?
