Netflix Picks Up World War II Animated Series THE LIBERATORS From A+E Studios
Netflix is once again looking to further expand their collection of animated projects, and this time it's with a four-part World War II series titled The Liberator. Hit the jump for more details on the show.
Once again, Netflix has picked up a new animated series to add to its already large roster of animated offerings. According to Deadline, the streaming giant ordered The Liberator, a four-part World War II drama from A+E Studios.
This new program comes from Die Hard screenwriter Jeb Stuart and will be directed by Grzegorz Jonkajtys (Pan's Labrynth, The Mist). Meanwhile, Bob Shaye, Michael Lynne and Sarah Victor will act as executive producers on the project.
Aside from having a talented crew behind it, The Liberator will also pioneer a a hybrid animation process called Trioscope, a new technology that blends CGI and live-action performance.
The project, which was originally intended for the History Channel, currently has no release date, but more details will undoubtedly be released as it's further developed.
