RWBY (which is pronounced "Ruby") is an American anime-influenced computer-animated web series from Rooster Teeth animation, which will be joining forces with DC's the Justice League in the new film.
The Hollywood Reporter describes the film as follows: "Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern and Vixen are transported to the strange world of Remnant and find themselves turned into teenagers. Meanwhile, Remnant heroes Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang must combine forces with the Justice League to uncover why their planet has been mysteriously altered before a superpowered Grimm destroys everything."
Voicing Superman is, as noted, Chandler Riggs. Born June 27, 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia, Riggs spent several years studying tap dancing with Zack Everhart, a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance. He started acting at the age of four, including local Atlanta productions of The Wizard of Oz (in which he played a Munchkin) and Oklahoma. A year later he was cast in Jesus H. Zombie, an indie horror film. Then, in 2009, when he turned nine, he appeared in the indie film Get Low as well as the TV movie The Wronged Man.
He was back in zombie territory in 2010 when he was cast in the role of Carl Grimes on AMC's The Walking Dead, based on the comic of the same name. He was with the show until the middle of its eighth season, having appeared in a total of 77 episodes. In 2019 he appeared in the feature films Only and Inherit the Viper, and has been playing the recurring role of Patrick "PJ" Nelson in the ABC series A Million Little Things. He won three Saturn Awards for his work on The Walking Dead.
Other cast members of Justice League x RWBY include Natalie Alyn Lind as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Nat Wolff as Batman/Bruce Wayne, David Errigo Jr. as The Flash/Barry Allen, Jeannie Tirado as Green Lantern, Ozioma Akagha as Vixen, Tru Valentino as Cyborg, and, from the webseries, Lindsay Jones as Ruby, Kara Eberle as Weiss, Arryn Zech as Blake and Barbara Dunkelman as Yang. Jen Brown as Pyrrha, Tiana Camacho as Glynda, Aaron Dismukes as Oscar, Jason Douglas as Jacques, Samantha Ireland s Nora, Miles Luna as Jaune, Shannon McCormick as Professor Ozpin, Neath Oum as Lie Ren and Tara Platt as Kali.
The script is by Meghan Fitz, with Kerry Shawcross of RWBY directing. Serving as executive producers are Sam Register and Michael Uslan, whose name, of course, has appeared on every production that has featured Batman since Tim Burton's 1989 film.
