Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, the third season of Disney's Emmy Award-winning animated series, will return on Sunday, April 19. The new season will premiere with a one-hour special airing at 9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney XD and DisneyNOW.
The upcoming season will be consist of six one-hour specials and will feature cameo appearances by a number of Marvel heroes, including Captain Marvel, Groot, Dr. Strange and Star-Lord. We've known for a while now that the symbiote would be playing a big role in the third season — as suggested by the name "Maximum Venom" — but now Disney has teased that the season
"follows Spider-Man as he is pushed to his breaking point after Venom summons an earth-shattering threat from its home planet."
Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for two (not exactly smooth) years. He’s faced many super heroic and personal challenges while managing to keep New York safe. Now going into his third year at the prestigious Horizon High, Peter is confident he can handle anything that comes his way but even he can’t imagine what’s next. Venom will summon an earth-shattering threat from its home planet that will push Spider-Man to his very breaking point in a battle with global stakes.
The Venom symbiote has popped up at various moments in the series during the previous two seasons, but
Maximum Venom will up the ante.
"We planted the seeds in two seasons of 'Marvel's Spider-Man' and three seasons of 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy,' but you don't need to have watched them to be blown away by this colossal confrontation," Cort Lane, senior vice president of Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment,
previously teased.
"While a ton of guest heroes will be on hand, Peter Parker's special link to Venom makes him the only hero who can tip the scales to save humanity."
Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom will feature a number of prominent guest actors, including Yvette Nicole Brown (
Community) as Head Administrator and Sofia Wylie (Disney+’s

ZOMBIES 2 stars Meg Donnelly, Kylee Russell and Carla Jeffery will voice Symbiote Sisters Scream, Scorn and Mania, respectively. Felicia Day (
