The Russo Bros., Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast are teaming up for a new animated series based on the Magic: The Gathering trading card game that will stream on Netflix.
The Russo's will serve as executive producers while Henry Gilroy (Star Wars Rebels) and Jose Molina (The Tick) will write scripts. Joining them as a co-executive producer will be storyboard artist Yoriaki Mochizuki, whose credits include Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
“We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us,” the Russos said in a joint statement.
Hopefully, the project follows a long list of stellar animated projects from Netflix that include a Castlevanie adaptation, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Devilman Crybaby.
