The Looney Tunes are back and better than ever! Looney Tunes Cartoons is an upcoming animated series based on and featuring characters from the iconic and classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shows.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the series was developed by Peter Browngardt — who's best known for creating Cartoon Network's Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and Uncle Grandpa. It serves as the successor to the New Looney Tunes series that premiered back in 2015 on Cartoon Network.
Looney Tunes Cartoons is set to publicly debut on May 27th, 2020. The animated series will be exclusively available to watch on the HBO Max streaming service — which itself launched on the same date (May 27th). A total of ten episodes have been produced at the time of writing, the first of which is available to watch on YouTube (and below).
What's more, along with many other trailers for their upcoming and exclusive content, HBO Max has released an official trailer for Looney Tunes Cartoons which shows off many of the classic characters and scenarios such as Road Runner and Tweety outwitting Wile E. Coyote and Sylvester respectively. Reception is quite positive.
