Doctor Who and Jessica Jones star David Tennant has officially joined the cast of Rooster Teeth's gen:Lock as Dr. Rufus Weller, the inventor of the titular technology in the upcoming anime-style show.
The web series, which is set to premiere in 2019, already has a talented collection of actors that includes Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) and Dakota Fanning (The Alienist), who will both be playing mecha pilots.
David Tennant's other credits includes an acclaimed role in Broadchurch as well as voice work for How to Train Your Dragon and DuckTales, all of which have increased the actor's popularity among fans.
The gen:Lock series marks the second anime-inspired project from Rooster Teeth, with the fan-favorite RWBY being their first foray into the immensely popular style of storytelling. So, expectations for the new mecha web series are very high.
