One of the producers behind the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse just stated that a Japanese Spider-Man might make it in the upcoming sequel, in one condition. If the film crosses 200 million dollars in domestic box office, Philip Lord promises the Japanese character's addition to the cast.
Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal expressed his interest in being part of the sequel as well. Fans have been suggesting the addition of PlayStation 4's Spider-Man and Lowenthal agrees.

Into the Spider-Verse hit theaters on December 14, 2018 with a budget of 90 million dollars and has made over 213.7 million dollars in box office revenue. Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman serve as the screenplay writers and Lord produces as well.
