As part of the HBO Max and WB Discovery Access Animated Shorts Program, 12 underrepresented artists spent 12 months working on 8 animated shorts which will all be released on March 23 on the HBO Max special, Only You: An Animated Shorts Collection.
Based on some of the art styles and visuals, if you're a fan of Netflix's Love Death + Robots animated anthology series, you'll definitely want to tune in to Only You: An Animated Shorts Collection.
As part of the mentorship program, the 12 artists worked with industry veterans at several WB Discovery subsidiaries including HBO Max, Adult Swim, Warner Animation Group, and Rooster Teeth. The stories that will be displayed will span multiple genres including horror, comedy, and fantasy.
"It has been a pleasure to continue our pipeline efforts by championing underrepresented voices and giving access and exposure for these next generation of primetime animation storytellers,” said Karen Horne, Senior Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, North America, Warner Bros. Discovery in a press release. “We are excited that this program culminates with the opportunity to showcase the artists’ unique visual artistry with HBO Max consumers.”
What’s a story Only You can tell? Inspired by this prompt, a diverse group of artists bring their personal tales to life across a spectacular range of animated styles.
