The first
Gremlins movie released back in 1984 and a sequel followed that up in 1990. The franchise has remained dormant since - or rather until now.
Warner Bros. will be coming out with their own streaming service akin to Netflix and Disney+. To bolster this platform, WarnerMedia will be putting together an animated series based on the afformentioned fantasy/horror series.

The Hollywood Reporter, WarnerMedia Streaming has ordered ten episodes of an adult-oriented animated comedy by the name of:
"Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai".
It's said that the animated series will take place in 1920s Shanghai and tell the story of Mr. Wing coming across Gizmo for the first time at the age of ten. Wing and his adorable companion are joined by a street thief name Elle as they embark on a treacherous journey through China to return Gizmo to his family. Along the way, they come across a variety of monsters and entities of Chinese folklore.
Tze Chun (Gotham) is attached to write Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. Amber Television's Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and Sam Register are executive producers of the project. Brandon Hay (
Robot Chicken) as well as the show's afformentioned writer will co-executive produce and Dan Krall will produce.
