Despite the nearly unanimous opinion that the ending of Game of Thrones was less than lackluster, the series had a great run. It retained its popularity for the better portion of a decade. HBO Max has taken this to mean that regardless of how things wound up and the reception of the finale, fans are still interested in digging deeper into the mythos and wonder of Westeros.
Now, it has been known for some time that a live-action Game of Thrones prequel series titled House of the Dragon is in development, and it is actually set to stream on HBO Max next year. While the show focuses on the Targaryan Civil War, a separate live-action prequel called Flea Bottom was in talks that would revolve around the slums in King's Landing.
However, it seems like that has all changed as The Hollywood Reporter has now shared that while Flea Bottom is out of the running, there are three adult animated series set in the wider world of Westeros headed for the streamer instead. While one was previously leaked, this new report claims that two additional series are in discussion to take the spot of the scrapped Flea Bottom.
While we don't currently have any artwork to see for the new shows, it is definitely intriguing to think of how graphic these adult-oriented animations may be. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser trailer for House of the Dragon below.
