Federation Kids & Family, a global distributor, and their production company Cottonwood Media have recently finalized a deal to air the animated comedy series Squish in Belgium and Israel.
While the series has been picked up by HOP! (Israel), RTBF (Belgium), and VRT (Belgium), Squish will not be aired on the broadcasting stations until early 2019, after the show premieres in France.
Squish was originally commissioned by Gulli, a television network that broadcasts in France, Russia, and North Africa. The comedy series is also co-produced by Cottonwood Media and Spain’s Planeta Junior, and was the first project created under the companies’ partnership.
The President of Federation Kids & Family and Cottonwood Media, David Michel, detailed his excitement over Squish, which he believes offers more originality than other animated series.
“Our super-talented creative team, and the broadcasters, have been very excited about the refreshing uniqueness of this property. In today’s market, where a lot of shows look and feel alike, Squish really stands out wherever it’s shown. It is visually distinct, original in concept, and bold in its humor, while being a true, parent-friendly 6-11 high-comedy show.”
Squish follows the slapstick antics of an amoeba attempting to fit in within a world full of single-cell organisms. The 52 x 11 minute series is based off of the New York Times bestselling graphic novels by Jennifer Holm and Mathew Holm.
Squish will premiere on Gulli in early 2019!
